Min Energy Offices

Min Energy

 Our offices are built according to ecological criteria using the “Holz100” construction method. The “Holz100” system is a solid wood construction with a crosswise design doweled board layers requiring no gluing.  The solid wood panels have an external Thermal insulation made of wood fiber boards and meet the Thermal insulation values according to the Swiss Minergie standard.

Solar panels on the roof, heat pumps and wood fired heating mean we use no hydrocarbons and very little energy from the (Low GHG) Swiss Grid.

Low GHG Travel

Minimal Commuting

The majority of our work is done from our home office. 

We take the train

 Most european trains run off the grid and so the GHG footprint associated with travel varies as you travel from country to country. 

If that is not an option we use the EV

Our Tesla has done 160,000 klm with 90 % of the battery capacity still usable.  We charge it from local renewable energy sources and are collaborating with various companies to establish even lower GHG charging infrastructure. 

But we are lucky - By the end of 2023, there will be a fast-charging station every 20 km, which will make the Swiss charging network three times denser than the requirements set by the European Union - IEA Energy Policy Overview for Switzerland 2023.

Nuclear powered

Most of our EV charging is done from our local station where 93.9 % of the energy is Nuclear and the remaining 6.1 % a mix of Hydro, Wind and Solar. 100 % renewable .. 

Offsetting Air Travel

From 2024 we will be offsetting any residual GHG associated with our operations (ie scope 1 and 2).  This is primarily associated with travel by air.
